Dexter: Do The Wrong Thing

Yvonne Strahovski guest stars on this season of Dexter
With Dexter, it always seems like it takes about half of a season before I really start getting hooked on that year's storyline. I thought this year was the exception since Dexter was found out by his sister right at the beginning, but that is only part of this season's theme. Besides the changing nature of the relationship between Dexter and Deb, there is another storyline involving new character, Hanna McKay (Yvonne Strahovski).

It's no secret that Yvonne Strahovski is one of the most beautiful women in TV, but her talents have been wasted on mediocre fare like Chuck. I tried watching Chuck, and made it through the first season, but ultimately had to bail on it.Yvonne wasted five of her hottest years on that shit. She needs to make up for lost wasted time! Dexter is the perfect outlet. She can be all hot and whatnot, while at the same time, showing her actual acting chops.

Her character, Hannah, is the teenage accomplice of a spree killer who has been in prison for over a decade. Due to her age (15) and her willingness to cooperate with police at the time, Hannah only spent a few years in juvie as punishment for her involvement in the crimes. Most people felt she was innocent of the murders, and was just a terrified kid. Some, however, don't.
Yvonne's hotness masks the killer inside
Dexter is one of those who doesn't believe Hannah is innocent. Knowing, however, that she has been given immunity in exchange for her testimony (and that she can never be imprisoned for anything related to those crimes), Dexter decides to deal with her his way. He stalks her, investigates her, and gets what he believes is evidence of her guilt. But she surprises him by showing up, uninvited, at his home. Is she attracted to him or is she on to him?

Deciding to find out one way or another, Dex asks her out on a date. She reluctantly accepts. He takes her to a closed down Christmas park that she had wanted to visit back when she was 15. Just as we see Hannah looking happier than she has ever looked...Dexter injects her and puts her on his table.

Dexter has always been more motivated by his desire to kill than by his sex drive. But something happened when he saw her naked and taped up on his table. Obviously, she looks amazing naked, but there was something else. She did not care. She was not afraid, and she did not beg for her life or deny her guilt. She said something like "Do what you gotta do," and waited to die. Somehow, this made Dexter rip off the restraining tape to let her free, and then the two had sex. Serial killer sex. It was nuts. And they even showed a little Yvonne Strahovski side boob. I enjoyed that for the .5 seconds it lasted.

So, where does that leave the two of them? Unknown. Hannah now knows the real Dexter. She has seen him. She knows what he really is. She knows that he knows about her, as well. But Dexter's predicament is a little more difficult. He works for the police and his sister is a freaking lieutenant! Furthermore, there is an investigative reporter who believes that Hannah is guilty, and believes he has evidence to prove it. Since the guy has a boner for Deb, he shares this information with her, as well as the fact that his "blood guy" came to a different conclusion than her brother.

He didn't really come to a different conclusion, of course, he fudged it so he could deal with Hannah himself. If she doesn't immediately realize that, Debra soon will realize that Dexter plans to kill her. This will be pretty weird once she sees Dexter and Hannah acting like a couple (assuming that happens now they fucked), and it will show her that Dexter lied to her when he said he would not take cases away from the police. Dexter is in some serious trouble next week.
